Sarah Michelle Gellar Reflects on Her Special Bond with ‘Buffy’ Co-Star Michelle Trachtenberg: ‘I Will Live… For You’

Sarah Michelle Gellar is remembering her friend and former co-star, Michelle Trachtenberg, who sadly passed away at the age of 39. Gellar took to Instagram to share her heartfelt tribute.

In her post, Gellar expressed her deep love for Trachtenberg, saying, “Michelle, listen to me. I love you. I will always love you. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it. I will be brave. I will live… for you.” Along with her words, she shared a collection of photos from their time on set together.

Trachtenberg was discovered unresponsive in her New York City apartment on Wednesday. Authorities noted that no foul play was suspected, and the New York Medical Examiner is looking into the cause of her death.

Michelle Trachtenberg joined Buffy the Vampire Slayer in its fifth season in 2000. She played Dawn Summers, the younger sister of Gellar’s character, Buffy. The series ran from 1997 until 2003 and gained a loyal following during its time on the WB and UPN networks.

After Buffy, Trachtenberg starred in several popular projects, including the 2004 comedy EuroTrip and the Disney movie Ice Princess, where she portrayed a shy teen who finds her love for figure skating. She later appeared in Gossip Girl as Georgina Sparks, a character known for creating chaos among New York’s elite.

Many of Trachtenberg’s co-stars from Buffy, as well as actors from other shows, paid tribute to her following the news of her passing. The loss of such a talented actress has touched many hearts.
