Now, tapping on the weather shortcut sends users to a redesigned Google Search results page for “weather.” The new layout features a Froggy card that shows current conditions and hourly forecasts. You’ll also see a 10-day forecast you can swipe through, along with drop-downs for air quality, precipitation, and wind information.

Experts suggest that incorporating AI into this experience improves user engagement. AI now summarizes current weather conditions, making it easier for users to get the info they need quickly.

Data shows that more users are accessing weather updates through platforms like Google Search than from dedicated apps. A recent survey found that 65% of smartphone users prefer integrated search functionality over standalone weather applications. This indicates that many find the convenience of using a single app appealing.

Despite these updates, some users have expressed frustration. The absence of a “View all details” button that was previously available in the old app leaves some wanting more comprehensive access to weather information.
