Say Goodbye to Windows Update Hassles: Microsoft Introduces Infinite Pause Feature!

Microsoft isn’t completely eliminating automatic updates, but they are making some changes. Pavan Davuluri, who leads Windows, says you’ll soon be able to pause updates “for as long as you need.” This means you can restart or turn off your computer without the pressure of installing updates right away.

If you’re worried about frequent restarts, Microsoft promises you’ll only need to reboot once a month. However, if you’re eager for the latest features, you can still opt for faster updates through the Windows Insider Program.

This year, updates are expected to enhance performance and stability. Microsoft aims to make File Explorer and other apps faster, reduce crashes, and improve device wake-up reliability. These changes should make your overall experience smoother.

Davuluri mentions that they took user feedback seriously, especially regarding the long setup times for some devices. Soon, users will be able to skip updates during setup, allowing quicker access to the desktop. Plus, there will be fewer steps and reboots to simplify the initial setup. Notably, you’ll even be able to use a gamepad to create your PIN, which is a welcome change for many.

According to recent user surveys, 65% of Windows users expressed frustration with lengthy update processes and setup times. This feedback seems to have influenced Microsoft’s upcoming changes.

Davuluri’s team has been listening carefully to users. He said, “What came through was the voice of people who care deeply about Windows and want it to be better.”

It’s always good to see tech companies responding to user needs. If Microsoft can implement these changes effectively, it could lead to a more positive experience for millions of users. For more details on these updates, you can read Microsoft’s announcement here.
