VALDOSTA — Scintilla Charter Academy is excited to join the Georgia Foundation for Public Education’s PEACH Education Tax Credit Program. This program allows donors to contribute funds that directly support educational initiatives while also reducing their state tax burden.
“We are thrilled to be part of the PEACH Education Tax Credit program,” said Amanda Miller, assistant superintendent. “This funding will help us invest in our students’ futures. It’s a unique chance for community members to impact education while benefiting from tax reductions.”
The program will help fund three important initiatives at Scintilla:
- Real-World Skills Through Interdisciplinary Learning: Scintilla aims to equip students with essential problem-solving skills by integrating design thinking into the curriculum. The funds will be used to enhance technology, resources, and provide field experience that prepares students for real-world challenges.
- Holistic Student Development: The school focuses on developing each student fully. With the help of PEACH funds, students will gain access to sports, leadership programs, and mental health support. This comprehensive approach ensures every child can grow in a safe environment.
- Encouraging Creativity in the Arts: Many students miss out on artistic exploration due to a lack of resources. This initiative will upgrade Scintilla’s art facilities, providing modern tools for visual and performing arts. Funds will also support training for teachers, helping them integrate creative methods into their classrooms.
Paige Buzbee Pushkin, Executive Director of the Georgia Foundation for Public Education, shared, “We are excited to partner with Scintilla to raise funds through the PEACH Education Tax Credit program. Local donations will directly benefit local students.”
The Georgia Foundation for Public Education works to improve K-12 education across the state. Through collaborations and donations, they focus on enhancing the learning experience for the 1.7 million students in Georgia, including those at Scintilla Charter Academy.
