The Seattle Seahawks made a key addition to their defensive line by selecting Rylie Mills from Notre Dame in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. They picked him at 142nd overall after trading quarterback Sam Howell to Minnesota.

“My knee is ahead of schedule,” Mills said in a recent interview. “I’m walking well and starting to run. The doctors told me I’m well ahead of where most people would be.”
Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 296 pounds, Mills has a strong track record. He started 35 games and played in 39 over the last three seasons, amassing 108 tackles, 13.5 sacks, and 20 tackles for loss. His performance last year was particularly impressive, with 7.5 sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss, reflecting a significant improvement from previous seasons.
Mills emphasized the importance of enhancing his skills before entering the draft. “I chose to return for my final year to build my confidence and become a complete player. I focused on my mobility and finishing my rushes,” he said. This dedication to improvement shows his commitment to becoming a standout player in the NFL.
