Seahawks’ OC Kubiak Addresses Raiders Rumors: Our Sole Focus is the Super Bowl!

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Klint Kubiak, the offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks, is in the spotlight as rumors swirl about him potentially becoming the next head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. Despite the buzz, Kubiak is laser-focused on the upcoming Super Bowl LX where the Seahawks will face the New England Patriots.

“I’m fully committed to the Seahawks and this game,” Kubiak stated during Super Bowl Opening Night. “Whatever happens next, we’ll handle it on Monday.”

Reports suggest Kubiak, who is 38, plans to negotiate a deal with the Raiders to succeed Pete Carroll. Just recently, he had a second meeting with both the Raiders and the Arizona Cardinals.

Seattle has revamped its offense under Kubiak’s leadership. In 2024, the Seahawks struggled, ranking 21st in scoring. However, after adding Sam Darnold and Kubiak’s guidance, they jumped to 8th place, averaging 25.5 points per game and boasting a top-10 rushing attack. This helped ease the pressure on Darnold, who has been playing with an oblique injury during the playoffs.

Darnold praised Kubiak’s work ethic, noting he’s often the first to arrive and the last to leave the facility. “He’s a grinder who loves football and is honest with his players,” Darnold said.

Seattle’s head coach, Mike Macdonald, expressed mixed feelings about Kubiak’s situation. “It’s bittersweet to see him go. He’s an excellent coach and a great person. When our coaches get these opportunities, it’s a win for them,” Macdonald said.

Beyond the Raiders and Cardinals, Kubiak also interviewed with the Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons, and Baltimore Ravens during the playoff bye week.

Balancing interviews with game prep hasn’t been a challenge for Kubiak. “Preparation is key. My résumé is in the film,” he mentioned, echoing advice from his father, Gary Kubiak, a former NFL quarterback and Super Bowl-winning coach.

As Kubiak navigates these exciting opportunities, the NFL landscape continues to evolve, but his commitment now lies with the Seahawks as they aim for victory in the Super Bowl.
