Seahawks vs. Panthers Week 17: Key Inactives That Could Impact the Game

CHARLOTTE—In Sunday’s showdown against the Panthers, the Seahawks will miss two key players due to injuries. Left tackle Charles Cross, who has a hamstring issue, and safety Coby Bryant, with a knee problem, were ruled out on Friday.

Despite these setbacks, the Seahawks are in good shape overall. The rest of the inactive players are healthy scratches. Josh Jones is set to step in at left tackle for Cross, and Ty Okada will take over as safety for Bryant.

Amari Kight, elevated from the practice squad, will provide extra support on the offensive line. Running back Cam Akers is also active, joining Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet in the backfield.

Rookie outside linebacker Connor O’Toole will be an active participant, adding depth to the defense while Derick Hall is suspended for the game.

On the Panthers’ side, they’ll be without starting defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton, ruled out Friday due to a hamstring injury. Linebacker Trevin Wallace has also been placed on injured reserve. Receiver Tetairoa McMillan, who was listed as questionable for Sunday due to illness, is good to go.

In the NFL, injuries can significantly impact a team’s performance. According to a recent survey by Pro Football Focus, teams that adapt quickly to injuries see a better success rate in the season. This highlights the importance of depth and preparation, especially for teams like the Seahawks, who aim to stay dominant in a competitive league.
