Seattle police have arrested a suspect in the tragic shooting of Quusaa Margarsa, a 25-year-old employee at The Growler Guys beer garden. The 20-year-old suspect was taken into custody on Monday.
Quusaa, affectionately known as “Q,” was closing the business on Friday night when the shooting occurred. A co-worker found him the next morning. Since then, friends, family, and customers have visited the beer garden to pay their respects, leaving flowers, candles, and heartfelt messages.
Quusaa was a proud graduate of Nathan Hale High School and an athlete on the school’s championship basketball team in 2017. Friends remember him as a gentle, humorous person who brightened their lives.
As the investigation continues, police have not disclosed details about the shooting. It’s unclear whether it was a robbery attempt or a targeted attack.
According to a 2021 report, gun violence in the U.S. has been increasing steadily, with more than 45,000 deaths attributed to firearms that year alone. This tragic event in Seattle highlights a growing concern about safety in public spaces.
