Como secured an impressive 2-0 win against Fiorentina in a Serie A match on Sunday. The young talents, Assane Diao and Nico Paz, showed their skills with well-crafted goals at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Fiorentina’s coach, Raffaele Palladino, gave full debuts to new signings Nicolo Zaniolo and Nicolo Fagioli, who joined Michael Folorunsho in the starting lineup. However, they were missing Moise Kean, who sat out due to a suspension. Como made one change from their previous match, bringing in Maxence Caqueret to replace Patrick Cutrone.
Zaniolo looked eager to make an impact early on, aiming a shot on goal straight from kickoff, but it sailed over the bar. Como’s goalkeeper, Jean Butez, was busy early, denying Robin Gosens from a dangerous setup.
Como’s breakthrough came when Diao took advantage of a counter-attack. After picking up the ball near the halfway line, he raced into Fiorentina’s box and scored, putting Como ahead 1-0.
The second half became tense with arguments and repeated stoppages, leading to yellow cards for Michael Folorunsho and Edoardo Goldaniga. Como extended their lead when Nico Paz scored. Fiorentina lost possession in their half, and after a quick pass from Lucas Da Cunha to Paz, he shot from the edge of the area, hitting the post and sealing the win.
Following this match, Fiorentina sits in sixth place, just a point above AC Milan and Bologna, who have games in hand. Meanwhile, Como jumped to 13th place, inching closer to the top half of the table.
