This was Gilgeous-Alexander’s fourth 50-point game in just seven weeks, a record-setting feat in the NBA. He’s the only player this season to reach 50 points more than once. He showed off his impressive shooting skills, hitting 18 of 30 shots, making 5 of 9 three-pointers, and sinking all 10 of his free throws.

He reached the 50-point milestone with a putback shot just under three minutes left in the game, pushing the Thunder ahead by 12 points. Remarkably, this marks the shortest time for any player to record their first four 50-point games in NBA history.

Thunder coach Mark Daigneault praised Gilgeous-Alexander, emphasizing his ability to control the game. “He knows when to attack and when to set up his teammates,” Daigneault said, highlighting how this benefits the whole team.

Jalen Williams added 24 points to the Thunder’s strong performance. On the Rockets’ side, Cam Whitmore matched his career high with 27 points and 11 rebounds, while Reed Sheppard also set a career-best, scoring 25 points. However, the Rockets were missing several key players due to injuries.

In the second quarter, Houston led by as much as nine points early on. But by halftime, the Thunder had surged ahead 63-62 thanks to an explosive 28 points from Gilgeous-Alexander. As the game continued, the Thunder built on their momentum, leading 102-89 at the end of the third quarter.

Despite a late push from Houston, the Thunder’s efforts, including back-to-back three-pointers from Lu Dort, helped them secure the win. The Thunder showed great resilience, proving once again why they’re a strong contender this season.
