Shedeur Sanders, the Colorado quarterback, has made it clear that he won’t be in Green Bay for the 2025 NFL draft.
In a recent interview with Overtime, he shared his thoughts on the draft. Sanders, who is expected to be a top pick, stated he’s leaning towards hosting an event either in Colorado or Dallas, where he grew up.
“No, we’ll most likely do Colorado or Dallas,” he said. “We didn’t decide fully yet. We plan on doing it as an event thing, and where it’ll be fun.”
Sanders believes either location will be a great way to honor the people who have supported him on his journey. He prefers to celebrate with his friends and family rather than at the draft itself.
He explained, “I want to spend those moments with my people. It’s going to be so expensive for everyone to come out there. By doing it here, we save a lot of money and can be together without the hassle of travel.”
Sanders emphasizes that reaching this point in his career is not just his achievement; it’s a team effort. He wants to celebrate with those who have stood by him.
The NFL hasn’t revealed the list of players invited to the draft yet. However, if he changes his mind, it’s likely Sanders will be on that list. Regardless, he’s focused on making sure his celebration reflects the community that helped him succeed.
