D4vd Arrested in Murder Investigation
Singer D4vd has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a 14-year-old girl, Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Her decomposed body was found last year in an abandoned Tesla in the Hollywood Hills. Authorities confirmed his arrest and mentioned that he is being held without bail.
The police are preparing to present their case to prosecutors on Monday. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office will review the evidence to decide if charges should be filed. D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, had been under investigation by a grand jury regarding the case.
Celeste Rivas Hernandez was reported missing in 2024, just days before her 15th birthday. She was a seventh grader from Lake Elsinore, about 70 miles from Los Angeles. The Tesla, registered in D4vd’s name, was towed after being left in an upscale neighborhood.
When investigators searched the vehicle in a tow yard, they found a cadaver bag filled with remains. Reports indicated that the body had been dismembered, but the cause of death is still unknown.
Before his arrest, D4vd wasn’t publicly named as a suspect. He is known for his unique blend of indie rock, R&B, and lo-fi pop, gaining fame on TikTok with his song “Romantic Homicide.” This hit peaked at No. 4 on Billboard’s charts. Recently, he released his debut EP “Petals to Thorns” and was touring when the news broke.
While the investigation unfolds, social media reactions are diverse. Fans express shock, while others focus on the seriousness of the charges. This troubling situation highlights a stark contrast between D4vd’s rising musical career and the gravity of the allegations against him.
D4vd’s case serves as a reminder of how quickly fame can turn into controversy. For more updates on this developing story, refer to credible news sources like NPR.
