Fleischmann spoke about how climate change has led to these extreme conditions. Factors like shallow water, low wind, and high turbidity combine to trap heat. This cycle reinforces the problem, making the situation worse for all aquatic life.

Experts agree. David Hannah, a professor at the University of Birmingham, notes that higher water temperatures negatively impact entire ecosystems. He warns that droughts and heat will become more severe due to climate change, affecting both individual species and their habitats.
