Comedian Andy Richter and Emma Slater chose “God Only Knows” by The Beach Boys for their contemporary dance. Richter got emotional, reflecting on their friendship. They scored 30 out of 40, which was a bit lower than expected, but Derek Hough appreciated their effort.
Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas dazzled with a Paso Doble to Ozzy Osbourne’s “No More Tears.” Their electrifying routine left the judges in awe, giving them a score of 39 out of 40. Derek Hough shouted, “That paso, it rocked!”
Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov tackled Aerosmith’s “Dream On.” Feeling the pressure, they gave it their all, receiving 34 out of 40. The judges noted she needs to connect more emotionally.
Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten returned from injury with a Viennese waltz to Dionne Warwick’s “What the World Needs Now Is Love.” Despite her physical challenges, their performance scored 37 out of 40, and Tonioli praised it as “sumptuous.”
Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa delivered a jazz routine to Tina Turner’s “River Deep – Mountain High,” which rocked the ballroom and earned them 38 out of 40.
Wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin and Witney Carson closed the night with a Paso Doble to “Icky Thump.” They were nervous but wowed the judges, finishing with a score of 38 out of 40.
Then came the team dance round, a first for co-hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro. Julianne danced with Team Kool, while Alfonso led Team Chicago. Both teams delivered phenomenal performances, but Team Chicago took home a perfect 40 out of 40.
