A woman in Evansville, Indiana, is facing serious felony charges linked to a DoorDash delivery. She allegedly sprayed food with a substance that made the customers vomit.
On December 7, a couple reached out to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office. They reported feeling sick after eating fast food ordered through DoorDash. They experienced burning sensations in their mouths and stomachs.
After noticing something red on the delivery bag, the man checked their doorbell camera. The footage showed the delivery woman spraying a substance from a small aerosol can onto the food after taking a delivery photo.
Detectives identified the woman as Kourtney Stevenson from Kentucky. In a phone call, she claimed she was visiting her father while working for DoorDash. Stevenson said she used pepper spray to handle a spider. However, detectives noted that spiders are not typically active at temperatures around 35°F, raising doubts about her story.
When Stevenson refused to come in for questioning, authorities obtained an arrest warrant. She now faces charges for battery resulting in moderate injury and tampering with consumer products. She is awaiting extradition to Indiana.
DoorDash has permanently banned Stevenson from their platform. A spokesperson emphasized their zero-tolerance policy for such behavior, confirming that they are cooperating with law enforcement.
