An Alabama woman, known as Jane Doe, recently dropped her civil lawsuit against Jay-Z and Sean (Diddy) Combs. She had accused both rappers of raping her when she was just 13 years old. The court documents show that she voluntarily dismissed the case, meaning she cannot bring it up again.
In December, Jane Doe added Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, to her existing lawsuit against Combs. She claimed they attacked her in 2000 after Combs’ limo driver offered her a ride to an MTV after-party.
Jay-Z has strongly denied these allegations and expressed relief over the lawsuit’s dismissal, calling it a “victory.” He described the claims as a “fictional tale” and emphasized that the lawsuit lacked merit from the start.
Meanwhile, Combs is facing serious legal trouble. He is currently in custody in New York, awaiting a different criminal trial. He has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering. In addition to this, he is dealing with several other sexual assault lawsuits. His attorney, Tony Buzbee, has stated that he represents over 150 individuals—both men and women—who have accused Combs of sexual abuse and exploitation.
Combs’ legal team stated that the dismissal of Jane Doe’s case confirms their position that other lawsuits against him are based on false claims. They assert that these allegations are fabricated and maintain that Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone.
Jay-Z and Diddy are prominent figures in the hip-hop industry. They rose to fame in the 2000s and are known as successful entrepreneurs and music moguls. Their careers include numerous collaborations and awards, making them two of the richest rappers in the world.
