Interestingly, cross country running has seen a noticeable increase in popularity. According to a recent survey by the National Federation of State High School Associations, participation in cross country has risen by 20% over the last decade. This growth reflects a broader trend where more young people are engaging in distance running, often praised for its numerous health benefits such as improved cardiovascular fitness and mental well-being.

As the Slippery Rock team continues to compete, they emphasize teamwork and perseverance, qualities that are essential for success not just in sports, but in life.
