Slippery Rock’s Gose Shines: Awarded All-PSAC Honors in Hammer Throw!

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men’s track and field team made a strong start at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships. On the first day, they scored eight points, putting them in fifth place after the hammer throw and 10,000-meter finals.

Shippensburg leads with 21 points, followed by East Stroudsburg with 10, Bloomsburg and Kutztown each with nine, and Slippery Rock with eight.

Zach Gose earned All-PSAC honors by finishing second in the hammer throw, marking an impressive 59.73 meters. This performance contributed all of Slippery Rock’s points on the opening day.

In the decathlon, all three SRU athletes are in the top eight. Logan Anderson is in first place with 3,741 points. His standout events included a 10.97-second 100-meter dash and a long jump of 7.05 meters. Jacob Stucchio is in fourth with 3,460 points, and Ethan Folmer is eighth with 3,290 points.

Alex Morris was the top finisher for The Rock in the 10,000-meter final, finishing 11th in 32:00.74.

This championship brings together the best athletes, creating an exciting atmosphere that showcases talent and determination. Events continue Friday, starting at 10 a.m.
