The Joint Economic Development Organization board of Topeka and Shawnee County has also approved $383,000 in incentives to help with this expansion. Luke Livingston, the director of operations at J.M. Smucker, expressed enthusiasm about this growth. He stated, “We are excited to continue to expand our operations in Topeka to support the consumers who count on our beloved brands.”
This facility has been part of the Topeka community for over 55 years. It produces popular pet food brands like Meow Mix and Milk-Bone. With pet ownership on the rise, experts believe the demand for high-quality pet products will continue to grow. According to a recent survey, 70% of households in the U.S. own a pet, reflecting a significant increase from previous years.
