SNL Expands with New Cast Additions: Meet Ben Marshall and Veronika Slowikowska, Plus Three Fresh Faces!

“Saturday Night Live” (SNL) is undergoing exciting changes. Ben Marshall is moving up to the featured cast alongside newcomers Veronika Slowikowska, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson, and Tommy Brennan.

This shift comes as a surprise for fans, especially with the departure of some notable cast members. Heidi Gardner, who has been part of SNL for eight years, is leaving, along with Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker after three seasons, and Emil Wakim after just one.

Marshall, now entering his fifth season, originally joined as part of the comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy. One member, John Higgins, will not return, while Martin Herlihy continues as a writer.

Slowikowska is gaining attention with her viral comedy sketches on Instagram, where she boasts a following of one million. She’s also acted in Shane Gillis’ Netflix series “Tires” and the hit show “What We Do in the Shadows.”

Culhane is known for his appearances on Dropout TV and performances with the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles.

Patterson, a stand-up comedian, often features on Tony Hinchcliffe’s podcast “Kill Tony” and will appear in Kevin Hart’s upcoming Netflix film “72 Hours.”

Brennan made waves this year by being named one of the Just for Laughs New Faces of Comedy and has performed stand-up on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

The departures have stirred mixed emotions. Walker shared on Instagram his love-hate relationship with SNL, describing it as a “toxic” but unforgettable experience. Wakim echoed this sentiment, mentioning how surreal it felt to work at such a legendary place.

The new season of SNL will kick off on October 4. This follows a monumental 50th anniversary celebration filled with documentaries and special performances from past stars.

As these changes unfold, fans are eager to see how the fresh talent will shape the iconic show. The evolution of SNL reflects its ability to adapt and remain relevant, keeping audiences engaged and entertained for decades. This adaptability could be key, especially as viewership trends show a rise in younger audiences tuning in for humor that resonates with their experiences.
