Snowboard Stars Set to Battle for Big Air Crystal Globe at Aspen World Cup Finale!

Su Yiming, the 22-year-old champion from the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, is definitely one to watch in Aspen. After struggling with injuries earlier this season, he made a strong comeback by securing second place in slopestyle last weekend. Before that, his best finish was sixth at the Laax Open in January.

Another competitor to keep an eye on is Oyvind Kirkhus from Norway. He recently finished third at Big Air Klagenfurt and came close to podium finishes, placing fifth at Kreischberg and fourth in Beijing. Cameron Spalding from Canada, who leads the slopestyle standings, and Chris Corning from the USA will also be competing. Corning stands out as the only competitor in Aspen with ten top-three finishes in big air World Cup events.

Rocco Jamieson from New Zealand is looking to make a splash on the World Cup stage as well. At just 18, he has a third-place finish in slopestyle from Cardrona and a second in big air from Chur. However, he faced some challenges recently, failing to qualify for the last three big air finals. In Aspen, he climbed to 12th place in slopestyle, improving from 13th at the Laax Open. Notably, at the recent X Games in Aspen, he captured third place, finishing behind Japan’s Hasegawa and gold medalist Ogiwara.

On the women’s side, Mia Brookes from Great Britain is making waves. She leads the big air standings, clocking in two wins among her four podium finishes this season. Both Brookes and Japan’s Mari Fukada currently have 305 points in the World Cup standings. However, Fukada has only one big air victory under her belt this season.
