LEWISBURG — Ashley Sofilkanich had an impressive week with the Bucknell Women’s Basketball team, helping them secure two wins and earning her fourth Patriot League Player of the Week title. She made history by becoming the first Bison since 2016 to win this award four times in one season.

In her last two games, Sofilkanich scored a staggering 66 points, shooting 23-for-37 from the floor and hitting 20 of 25 free throws. She also grabbed 18 rebounds, with 11 of those against Colgate, marking her 12th career double-double. Additionally, she impressed by dishing out 11 assists, showcasing her versatility on the court.

Against Colgate, she really shined, scoring 44 points with a remarkable shooting performance of 16-for-27. In crucial moments, particularly the fourth quarter and overtime, she scored 25 points, including 10 points in the final moments to secure a 71-67 win. Her fourth-quarter effort was outstanding, as she netted 15 points, hitting 7 of her 8 attempts.

This performance tied Bucknell legend Molly Creamer’s record for most points in a single game and set new Sojka Pavilion records for field goals made and attempted. Creamer, who watched Sofilkanich play earlier this season, expressed her excitement about the record. She praised Sofilkanich for making every shot count, especially in a tough overtime game.

Although her numbers dipped against Boston University, where she scored 22 points on 7-for-10 shooting, her contribution was still critical in securing a 74-59 victory. Sweetening the deal, she shot 8-for-9 from the free-throw line, helping the Bison improve their home record to 7-2.

Sofilkanich now leads the conference in scoring with an average of 20.2 points per game, which ranks her 19th nationally. She’s also a leader in blocks, averaging 2.4 per game, and has tied for eighth nationally with eight double-doubles.

With a record of 10-9 overall and 5-3 in conference play, Bucknell will hit the road to face Loyola (Md.) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. This game will be available for streaming on ESPN+.
