SpaceX has reached an exciting milestone by launching its 900th Starlink satellite this year. On May 10, at 2:28 a.m. EDT, the Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral, despite some tricky weather conditions.

This mission, known as Starlink 6-91, sent an additional 28 Starlink V2 Mini Optimized satellites into orbit. Now, there are over 7,400 satellites in low Earth orbit, significantly enhancing global internet connectivity.

The launch marks the 250th flight of the Falcon 9 from the same launch site and is the 38th Starlink-focused mission in 2025. Before the launch, weather forecasts predicted only a 55% chance of good conditions due to storms forecasted in Central Florida. Fortunately, clouds parted just in time for a smooth launch.

After about eight minutes, the Falcon 9’s first stage booster landed successfully on the droneship named “A Shortfall of Gravitas.” This was a remarkable achievement, marking the 108th landing for this particular droneship and the 444th landing overall.

In terms of technical achievements, SpaceX used booster 1083 for this mission, which has flown 11 times before. This includes high-profile missions like Crew-8 and Polaris Dawn.
