SpaceX is once again making space history. Early Saturday morning, they launched a Falcon 9 rocket, setting a new record for turnaround time at the launchpad. The mission, known as Starlink 10-34, took off at 12:26 a.m. EDT, just two days, eight hours, and 31 minutes after the previous Starlink mission. This new record beats their own from March by almost half an hour.

Despite tricky weather conditions on Florida’s Space Coast, the launch went smoothly. SpaceX successfully sent 27 Starlink V2 Mini satellites into orbit. The Falcon 9 first stage booster, known as B1092, played a key role in this mission, marking its fifth flight. This booster has an impressive track record, having previously launched missions like NROL-69 and CRS-32.

About eight minutes after liftoff, the booster made a successful landing on the droneship “A Shortfall of Gravitas.” This was the 115th landing on that specific ship and the 469th overall for SpaceX.

It also marks ten years since the company’s CRS-7 mission to the International Space Station, which faced an in-flight anomaly but led to critical upgrades for the Falcon 9. According to industry experts, these upgrades have greatly enhanced the rocket’s reliability.

Interestingly, SpaceX is not slowing down. They have another Falcon 9 launch planned for June 28. The next mission, Starlink 15-7, is scheduled to lift off from Vandenberg Space Force Base. This continuous push reflects the growing demand for satellite internet, with recent studies showing that nearly 50% of U.S. households now rely on some form of satellite or broadband service.
