JACKPOT, Nev. — The Super Bowl is finally here! Fans in the Magic Valley are getting ready to head south to place their bets on the big game.
This Sunday, Cactus Pete’s Casino Resort will be buzzing with excitement as the Eagles and Chiefs clash on the field.
Brandon Smith, the Vice President and General Manager, shared that the sportsbook area typically attracts a good crowd, but major events like the Super Bowl bring in even more people.
“The Super Bowl is, of course, the biggest event, followed closely by March Madness,” Smith said.
With thousands expected to visit, the casino is gearing up for a lively weekend. Tom O’Connor, Vice President of Hospitality, mentioned they are stocking up on food to satisfy the eager crowds.
“Our chefs are always busy in the kitchen, focusing on culinary greatness,” O’Connor noted.
Smith also mentioned that the casino will extend the hours for some restaurants to accommodate guests. “Our plateau nonsmoking area will be open on Sunday, and we’re making sure to have enough staff on hand to support everyone,” he added.
As fans place their bets, the excitement isn’t just about which team will win. Many are also trying out fun side bets. Smith pointed out that popular wagers include guessing the coin toss winner and which player will score the first touchdown.
“It’s incredible how many betting options we offer,” Smith said. Unique bets like “All Bark Bark No Bite” allow for added amusement, where players bet on Saquon Barkley to score zero touchdowns if the Chiefs win. Another option is “My Number is Lucky” for Travis Kelsey to score over 87 yards.
Remember, you need to be 21 or older to place bets at the casino. Betting is open until kickoff, and some options stay available throughout the game.
