The Otipemisiwak Métis Government proudly announces Lyric Jesso’s new role on the Métis National Council’s Youth Council. This is an exciting opportunity for him to represent Métis youth voices.
Hailing from Lac La Biche, Alberta, Lyric has made a mark as a dedicated front-line worker in firefighting and emergency services. His hands-on experience gives him unique insights into pressing issues like climate change and emergency management.
Recently graduated from J.A. Williams High School, he is currently training as an Emergency Medical Responder. But his aspirations don’t stop there. Lyric dreams of becoming a Conservation Biologist and Indigenous Environmental Policy Analyst. He is deeply committed to protecting the environment and mentoring future generations.
Lyric is also very active in his community, volunteering for various causes. He believes that young people have valuable insights and should play a bigger role in community service. His passion for youth leadership can inspire others to get involved and make a difference.
Experts emphasize the importance of youth involvement in addressing climate issues, pointing to studies that show younger generations are often more aware and engaged than adults.
