State Senator Angela Paxton has decided to file for divorce from her husband, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. In a post on social media, she shared that she is seeking the divorce “on biblical grounds.”

Angela wrote that she views marriage as a sacred bond. She expressed her struggle for reconciliation but ultimately believes that staying in the marriage wouldn’t honor God or herself, her children, or Ken. She stated her faith helps her move forward confidently.

Shortly after, Ken posted his thoughts online, mentioning the pressures of politics and public scrutiny. He expressed pride in their family and asked for privacy during this tough time.

Angela filed for divorce in Collin County, citing adultery and stating that they have not lived together since June 2024. The divorce petition claims their marriage has become untenable due to conflicts that prevent any hope for reconciliation.

Meanwhile, Ken is running for a U.S. Senate seat. Throughout his career, he has faced several allegations of infidelity, particularly during his 2023 impeachment proceedings, which ended without conviction. He was accused of using his influence to secure a job for an alleged mistress. In addition, he has dealt with various corruption accusations, but he has never been convicted of any crime.

Ken became Attorney General in 2015 after serving a decade in the Texas Legislature. Angela has represented the McKinney area since 2019. She previously supported his campaigns and was known for her catchy campaign songs.

Despite their personal issues, Ken has been a significant conservative figure, opposing abortion and efforts to protect LGBTQ rights while pushing for stronger control over election-related prosecution. Angela, on the other hand, has focused on education issues as a former school counselor.
