The winds will shift from easterly to southerly, and on Monday, they’re expected to become even stronger—up to 90 kilometers per hour when they turn westerly. This increase in wind speed may coincide with a cold front moving through the area, according to experts.
The winds will begin to settle down by Tuesday morning. However, the weather agency is sounding the alarm about potential power outages. With such high winds, loose items can become dangerous projectiles, and tree branches are likely to snap.
On top of the wind, Toronto is experiencing an unusual temperature trend. The temperature will start at around 4°C Sunday night and rise to 7°C by Monday morning. Expect a mix of flurries on Monday, with the daytime temperature reaching 12°C before dropping to 2°C in the afternoon.
