Chicago is dealing with some significant lake-effect snow today, with colder temperatures and cloudy skies. As lake-effect snow started early this morning, we expect an additional 2 to 4 inches of accumulation along the lakeshore. ABC7 meteorologist Mark McGinnis noted that the snow intensity dropped between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., and conditions should improve later in the afternoon.

Just today, Chicago O’Hare International Airport reported 91 flight cancellations and an average delay of 21 minutes, whereas Midway had only six cancellations, with shorter delays.
