Weather Alert

Environment Canada has issued a Snow Squall Warning for:
- Orillia – Lagoon City – Washago
Snow squalls are expected to start this evening.
Hazards: You can expect between 15 to 30 cm of snow, with peak rates reaching 5 cm per hour. Visibility will be significantly reduced due to heavy snowfall and local blowing snow.
Timing: The snow will begin this evening and last until Sunday afternoon.
What to Expect: As a cold front moves in, snow squalls will develop. These conditions can shift quickly, leading to clear skies for a short distance before hitting heavy snow. Blowing snow may occur in open areas, with wind gusts reaching 60 km/h. Be aware that road conditions can change rapidly, and closures may happen.
If you are driving, reduce your speed if visibility drops. Keep an eye on the road ahead and be ready to stop if necessary.
