ANN ARBOR, MI — Are you a student staying in Ann Arbor for Thanksgiving? The University of Michigan has something special lined up just for you.

Mosher-Jordan Dining Hall will host its annual Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 200 Observatory St. If you don’t have a meal plan, you can still enjoy the feast. The all-you-can-eat dinner costs $15.25 with Blue Bucks or $18.30 with a credit card, plus taxes.

This year, the dining team is focused on providing a traditional Thanksgiving experience for students who can’t go home. General Manager Steven Ackermann emphasizes that they aim to meet the diverse needs of the student body, especially international students eager to try American dishes.

The menu is packed with delicious options. Starters include loaded baked potato soup and butternut squash soup. For the main course, guests can savor herb-roasted turkey, roasted garlic herb prime rib, garlicky mashed potatoes, stuffing, and roasted Brussels sprouts.

But it doesn’t stop there. The menu also offers Asian dishes like General Tso’s beef and tofu, ensuring a variety of flavors. Plus, there are plenty of options for those who follow halal diets and for vegetarians.

Don’t forget dessert! You can indulge in butterscotch spice cookie bars, pumpkin pie, pecan pie torte, and apple pie.

Ackermann expects around 900 to 1,000 guests this year, boosted by the excitement surrounding the Michigan vs. Ohio State football game on Saturday, November 29. Over the years, student feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Many return each year to enjoy the festive meal.

The culinary team, which includes 21 full-time cooks and many student workers, is ready to whip up a memorable experience. They work closely with the university’s International Center, helping around 250 students who are staying on campus this year.

To make it easier for students, special bus routes will run to Mosher-Jordan. The first bus leaves North Campus at 11 a.m. and will continue picking up students until the last one departs from Mosher-Jordan at 3 p.m. You can check the full transportation schedule here.
