PITTSBURGH – The Steelers are striking a deal to boost their running game. They have signed former Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell to a one-year contract, adding depth to their backfield.
Gainwell, 25, will join Jaylen Warren, who recently received a second-round tender from the team. This move comes after Najee Harris, the Steelers’ first-round pick in 2021, signed with the Los Angeles Chargers, leaving a gap in the team’s ground attack.
Warren showed promise last season, averaging 4.8 yards per carry. Now, with Gainwell on the roster, the Steelers have options.
