New Delhi, Jan 3: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the New Delhi Railway Station to check out India’s first Vande Bharat Sleeper Train. This train aims to change how people travel long distances overnight.

During his visit, Vaishnaw examined the sleeper coaches. He looked at seating arrangements, interior design, safety features, and how comfortable the train will be for passengers. He also interacted with railway officials to confirm that the train is ready for operation.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train boasts several advanced features. It has automatic doors, a KAVACH safety system, improved fire safety, and CCTV surveillance in every coach. The toilets have been upgraded for better hygiene, emphasizing cleanliness and passenger comfort.

This train will run between Guwahati in Assam and Howrah in West Bengal. All necessary trials and certifications have been completed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially launch it this January.

The sleeper train includes 16 coaches: 11 AC three-tier, four AC two-tier, and one AC first-class coach, accommodating around 823 passengers. It promises a smooth ride, thanks to its advanced suspension system and ergonomic design.

Passengers can look forward to dishes specific to the regions they are traveling to. For those starting in Guwahati, authentic Assamese cuisine will be served, while travelers from Kolkata can enjoy traditional Bengali dishes. This adds a delightful cultural touch to the journey.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train can travel at speeds up to 180 km/h, pairing faster travel times with modern amenities. This reflects Indian Railways’ commitment to innovation and enhancing passenger experience.
