Stephen A. Smith recently questioned Megyn Kelly’s intense response to a false report about the Philadelphia Eagles skipping a White House visit after their Super Bowl 2025 victory. On his show, “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” he asked, “Was that necessary, though?” This came after Kelly’s fiery comment, urging the Eagles to “GO F YOURSELVES” on X, reacting to a report suggesting some team members wouldn’t attend the visit.

The report, published on February 6, claimed that an unidentified player and a member of the Eagles’ ownership might refuse an invitation to the White House. This was just days before the Eagles won the Super Bowl against the Chiefs.
Kelly later acknowledged that the White House denied the report, responding on X. Stephen A. expressed his surprise at her reaction, saying, “Really? They ain’t feeling Trump. So what?” He pointed out that millions of people had similar feelings and questioned why she felt the need to react so harshly.
The Eagles actually chose not to go to the White House after their Super Bowl win in 2018. The invitation was rescinded by Trump due to a dispute over the national anthem, as he stated that some players disagreed with him regarding standing for the anthem.
Smith, while admitting he liked Kelly, disagreed with her approach. He stressed that if any team had a right to skip a White House visit, it would be the Eagles.
On a brighter note, Trump announced that the Eagles would indeed be invited to the White House following their recent win. He praised their performance and said, “Absolutely, they’ll be extended that invitation… They deserve to be down here and we hope to see them.”
A source close to the Eagles mentioned that the team would be “honored” to visit the White House, showing their willingness to put past disputes aside and celebrate their victory.
