FORT WORTH – Tulane Bowling had an eventful day at the Bulldog Classic, which was held by Louisiana Tech. The team finished with a 2-3 record after five matches. They celebrated wins against Jackson State and Prairie View. Notably, Mia Stolakis ranked in the top ten for her performance.
By the end of the day, Tulane sat in fourth place, amassing a total pinfall of 8,971, averaging 179.4 pins per game. Stolakis contributed significantly, with a total of 943 pins and an impressive average of 188.60, landing her in eighth overall for the tournament. Teammates Juanelyz Solla and Nancy Kohut finished 14th and 22nd, respectively.
The Green Wave kicked off the day with a match against Sam Houston, unfortunately losing 859-817. Paige Matiasek was the standout bowler for Tulane, scoring 179 pins, while Solla followed with 173 pins. Emma Fetterman added 154 pins, Kohut scored 159, and Stolakis had 152 pins.
They quickly rebounded with a strong performance against Jackson State, winning 900-781. Solla and Stolakis were the stars, with scores of 203 and 209. Kohut contributed a solid 190, and Emma Figert added 157. Matiasek rounded out the victory with a score of 141.
The next match saw Tulane face Oklahoma Christian, where they struggled and lost 845-996. Figert led the team with a score of 174, closely followed by Solla at 171. Stolakis and Kohut each scored 170, while Fetterman tallied 160.
Facing Louisiana Tech, the Green Wave fell short again, losing 1067-841. Stolakis was the top scorer with 189 pins, with Kohut at 179 and Fetterman at 168. Solla scored 157, and Figert contributed with 151.
Ending the day on a high note, Tulane secured a 949-825 victory over Prairie View. Stolakis shined with a best-ever score of 223, while Solla added 202. Matiasek scored 197, Fetterman chipped in with 178, and Kohut finished with 149.
Looking ahead, the Green Wave will kick off tomorrow with hopes of a podium finish as they prepare to take on Oklahoma Christian once again.
