During the closing ceremony of Bharat Utsav 2025 in Moscow, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio highlighted the strong friendship between India and Russia. He noted that the festival celebrated cultural connections through music, dance, and cuisine, showcasing the charm of Indian traditions.
Dr. Rio described Nagaland as “a land of breathtaking beauty and cultural richness.” He invited Russians to visit Nagaland to explore its indigenous traditions, arts, and crafts. “Nagaland is a treasure trove of heritage and diversity,” he said, emphasizing the state’s vibrant culture.
The Indian Embassy in Moscow, led by Ambassador Vinay Kumar, received praise for organizing the festival. Dr. Rio expressed gratitude for the support from the Moscow City Government and invited them to the famous Hornbill Festival in Nagaland.
According to recent reports, Nagaland played a significant role at Bharat Utsav 2025. The state was promoted as a major tourist destination under the Incredible India campaign. The tourism team, including Minister Temjen Imna Along, engaged in presentations and discussions to attract interest in Nagaland.
In addition, the Department of Industries & Commerce showcased “Made in Nagaland” products, including textiles and coffee, at a dedicated pavilion. This exhibit drew considerable attention and highlighted the state’s craftsmanship.
The cultural performances during the closing ceremony featured artists from Gujarat and Nagaland. A 25-member delegation from Nagaland, curated by the Task Force for Music & Arts, captivated the audience with folk music and traditional dances. They even performed a popular Russian song, earning wide acclaim.
Ambassador Vinay Kumar commended the enthusiasm of the Moscow audience and noted the contributions of various states. He stressed that Bharat Utsav 2025 reinforced the deep connections between India and Russia and believed it would strengthen bilateral relations.
During his trip, Chief Minister Rio also engaged with the Indian diaspora and local business leaders. He participated in a press conference alongside the Indian Ambassador and even had an interview with Russia Today, where he met media representatives and toured their headquarters.
