Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently visited Visakhapatnam to inspect the new stealth frigate, INS Taragiri. The Defence Minister highlighted the significance of having a strong Navy, especially since about 95% of India’s trade relies on maritime routes. He pointed out that with a coastline of over 11,000 kilometers, maritime security is crucial for India’s overall development.
In a related development, Singh also commissioned the indigenous nuclear submarine, INS Aridaman. This submarine is part of India’s Arihant class and further strengthens the Navy’s strategic capabilities.
