The 2025 edition of Summer Game Fest was a huge success, boasting an incredible 89% increase in peak live viewership compared to the previous year, as reported by StreamsCharts. Broadcast live on platforms like YouTube, Twitch, and X (formerly Twitter) on June 6, the event attracted over 50 million live streams from the YouTube Theater at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. This was the highest viewership ever for the event, now in its sixth year.

Big game announcements made waves during the show. Highlights included new titles such as “Resident Evil Requiem,” “Atomic Heart 2,” and “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.” Other exciting reveals included “Marvel’s Deadpool VR,” “Game of Thrones: War for Westeros,” and “007 First Light.”

According to a press release from the festival, the live show hit a peak audience of over 3 million viewers watching simultaneously on Twitch and YouTube. Both platforms saw significant gains in average viewership and watch time. For YouTube alone, the average audience increased by 38%, with a peak viewership rise of 43% compared to 2024.

After the event, the archived video drew over 8 million views. On Twitch, viewership also soared, with more than 1.4 million viewers tuning in and over 8,900 channels co-streaming the event.

The excitement spilled over to social media, where SGF became a hot topic. It was the top global trend on X, with 17 out of the top 30 trends in the U.S. linked to the festival.
