Sunaina Roshan Shares Her Inspiring Journey to Reverse Grade 3 Fatty Liver: Discover the Two Powerful Lifestyle Changes Fueled by Willpower and Determination

Sunaina Roshan, sister of actor Hrithik Roshan, has openly shared her health journey, including her battle with a rare form of cancer and her efforts to lead a healthier lifestyle. Recently, she talked about how she managed to reverse her Grade 3 fatty liver condition.

Fatty liver occurs when too much fat builds up in the liver, often due to obesity or unhealthy eating habits. Sunaina revealed, “Last year I managed to reverse my Grade 3 fatty liver to a Grade 1. Until recently, I eliminated it completely with pure willpower and determination.” She encourages everyone to act quickly, highlighting that reversing the condition is possible through simple but effective steps: making dietary changes and sticking to a regular exercise routine.

Sunaina also pointed out that fatty liver is a major contributor to liver cirrhosis, a more severe condition that becomes irreversible once it progresses. This focus on prevention is crucial, especially as lifestyle-related diseases become more common.

So, can diet and exercise really reverse fatty liver disease? Yes, they can, particularly in the early stages. Dr. Pranav Honnavara Srinivasan, a gastroenterologist, states that adopting a balanced diet—rich in whole grains, lean proteins, and plenty of fruits and vegetables—while cutting back on refined sugars, saturated fats, and alcohol is essential. Along with regular physical activity, these changes can significantly reduce liver fat and inflammation.

In early-stage fatty liver cases, making these lifestyle adjustments can often improve liver enzyme levels and promote healing. However, for more advanced conditions like Grade 3 fatty liver, a more comprehensive approach is necessary.

In advanced cases, lifestyle changes alone may not suffice. In such instances, medical intervention could be required. Dr. Srinivasan explains that doctors might prescribe medications designed to reduce inflammation, improve insulin sensitivity, or manage fibrosis. Although there isn’t a specific drug approved for fatty liver disease, some treatments are used off-label with varying results.

For patients experiencing significant fibrosis or early cirrhosis, regular monitoring through imaging tests and possibly liver biopsies is vital to track disease progression. In some severe cases, where liver function is severely compromised, liver transplantation may be necessary. Early detection and intervention are key to preventing the disease from advancing.

In summary, making healthy lifestyle choices plays a crucial role in managing and potentially reversing fatty liver disease. However, for advanced cases, it’s important to work closely with healthcare professionals to monitor the condition and explore additional treatment options.
