Super Bowl Party Showdown: Discover the Top Food Favorites Outranking the Game!
Game Day Snacks

Super Bowl Sunday is almost here! While some people tune in for the game, many are just as excited about the food. A recent survey found that less than half of Americans really care about which team wins. Instead, a lot of us prioritize the snacks.

In a poll of 2,000 adults, about 25% admitted they are more excited about the menu than the game itself. In fact, 54% believe that having great food can make or break the Super Bowl experience! Interestingly, 38% think the food is even more fun than the commercials, and nearly half can’t wait for the snacks rather than the halftime show.

The survey, conducted by Talker Research, explored what foods are essential for a successful watch party. Unsurprisingly, buffalo wings topped the list, chosen by 49% of the respondents. Barbecue dishes followed closely at 37%, and seven-layer dip wasn’t far behind, with 36% wanting it on the table.

It seems that 60% of those surveyed plan to attend or host a game day party. For many, menu planning starts weeks in advance! Variety is key, and the perfect spread should include sweet and savory choices. Popular picks beyond wings include nachos (30%), cookies or brownies (25%), and potato chips (24%). Chicken tenders or nuggets (22%) and pizza (20%) also made the top ten list of party foods.

However, keep in mind that indulging in spicy snacks like buffalo wings and jalapeño poppers can lead to some unpleasant side effects, like heartburn. Almost 25% of snackers report experiencing heartburn after eating those favorites. Some even take antacids to the party, just in case!

So, while you enjoy the big game, remember to keep your snacks in check. You wouldn’t want to feel unwell because of your munchies, or because your favorite team might not perform as expected, especially if you’re rooting against the Kansas City Chiefs.
