The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce and the Brown Bag Food Project are teaming up for a food drive to help local families facing food insecurity. This initiative runs from March 17 to March 28, 2025. It’s a crucial step, as currently, about 14% of Wood County residents struggle with food access.
High school students involved in the Chamber’s leadership program are leading the effort. They aim to collect non-perishable food and monetary donations for those in need. Donation drop-off spots include popular local places such as Grounds for Thought and Juniper Brewing Company.
Food insecurity affects many in our community. According to recent data from Feeding America, the issue has been rising, especially since the pandemic. With the economy still recovering, local drives like this one are more important than ever.
