The Supreme Court of India has directed the Center to convene a gathering with related stakeholders, together with state representatives, to deal with the problem of vacant seats in medical programs. The Apex Court emphasised that such seats should not remain unfilled and urged the Center to think about the suggestions of a committee appointed to resolve the matter.
A two-decide bench comprising Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan made this statement whereas listening to the case, stating, “Seats also cannot go vacant.”
According to PTI, the problem surfaced when the court docket was knowledgeable about unfilled tremendous-specialty seats in medical programs. In response, the Center proposed forming a committee comprising stakeholders, together with state representatives and personal medical colleges, chaired by the Director General of Health Services.
