Suspended: Luis Suárez and Sergio Busquets Face Consequences for Involvement in Inter Miami Leagues Cup Brawl

Inter Miami players Luis Suárez and Sergio Busquets are facing suspensions following a heated incident after the Leagues Cup final against the Seattle Sounders, where Miami lost 3-0.

Suárez received a six-game ban for spitting at a Sounders coach. Video footage revealed him stepping on the coach’s foot and then spitting at him. This punishment will keep him out of the next Leagues Cup entirely. Busquets, on the other hand, was suspended for two games after throwing a punch at Sounders midfielder Obed Vargas.

In addition, Miami’s Tomás Avilés got a three-match suspension for throwing punches during the fracas. Seattle’s coach, Steven Lenhart, also received a five-game suspension for his involvement. Each of these players will face fines too.
