Syracuse University Grieves: Two International Graduate Students Tragically Killed in Dump Truck Accident

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse University announced that two students tragically lost their lives in a dump truck accident on University Hill. Their identities have not been disclosed, but both were international graduate students in the College of Engineering & Computer Science, aged 24 and in her 20s.

The accident happened at the intersection of East Adams Street and University Avenue on July 10 around 10:30 a.m. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man succumbed to his injuries later that evening after being taken to Upstate University Hospital.

Following the incident, the Syracuse Police confirmed that the dump truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Investigators spent hours on-site, cordoning off the area with crime scene tape.
