Tate McRae Sparks Excitement with Thrilling Album Release Event at Kia Forum Parking Lot

Pop star Tate McRae lit up the Kia Forum on Thursday night to celebrate the release of her new album, So Close to What.

The event turned the parking lot into a fan’s paradise. There were photo booths, displays of her outfits, food trucks, and fun giveaway stations from sponsors like American Express, Adidas, and Neutrogena. It was a great atmosphere for all her dedicated fans.

Fans, many wearing hotpants and jerseys inspired by McRae’s style, had to request tickets priced at $8 through Ticketmaster. All ticket proceeds went to FireAid, supporting wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles. The concert was also live-streamed on TikTok for those who couldn’t attend.

When McRae took the stage at 9 p.m., it was the perfect timing as her album dropped. She kicked off the show with her hit song “Sports Car” and another track called “It’s OK I’m OK,” amidst dazzling lights surrounding her. “Guys, what’s up?” she shouted, eager to know if fans wanted to hear more new music.

During the concert, she introduced several fresh tracks, including “Revolving Door.” She shared exciting news about a new music video premiering that same night. McRae mentioned that the theme of her album revolves around the experience of falling in love again, which hints at her relationship with rapper The Kid LAROI, who is featured on the album. The Kid LAROI even posted a heartfelt Instagram tribute to celebrate the album release.

Throughout the evening, she also performed popular songs like “Dear God,” “bloodonmyhands,” “Greenlight,” “You Broke Me First,” and “2 Hands,” with the night wrapping up with her smash hit “Greedy.”

Looking ahead, McRae is set to embark on her sold-out “Miss Possessive” tour, kicking off in Mexico City on March 18. The tour will span 57 dates, taking her to cities like São Paulo, London, Amsterdam, Prague, and New York, before concluding back in Los Angeles at the Kia Forum in November.
