Luis Ruelas is currently facing financial challenges and has requested additional time to manage a loan. Recently, he received an extension on a $1 million loan he took out in March 2024. This was reported by the US Sun, noting that his final payment is now due on March 25, 2026.
In addition to the original loan, Ruelas reportedly secured an extra $250,000, also due in 2026. This comes at a time when he and his wife, Teresa Giudice, are dealing with a staggering tax bill of approximately $3 million. Giudice owes over $300,000, while Ruelas’s tax debt nears $2.6 million, which includes an earlier lien of over $160,000.
The couple, known for their appearances on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” has not publicly commented on their financial troubles. This isn’t the first time Giudice has faced legal issues regarding taxes. She previously served time in prison for fraud-related charges alongside her ex-husband, Joe Giudice, in 2015. Their marriage ended after Joe was released from prison in 2019.
Moreover, in August 2022, Giudice married Ruelas after a whirlwind romance that started during a vacation. Despite recent financial disputes, Giudice’s attorney insisted that she has been proactive about handling her tax responsibilities.
Noticing the public’s reaction, former “Real Housewives of New York” star Bethenny Frankel called out Giudice on social media. She expressed concern over the couple’s ongoing financial issues, questioning their choices.
