Three talented skimo athletes from Team Summit are heading to the ISMF World Championships in Morgins, Switzerland from March 2-8. The athletes are Jay McDonald, Finn Brown, and Ashley Adkins, all students at Summit High School.

These young athletes earned their chance to compete by delivering impressive performances at the U.S. National Championships in Utah and the Fireball Rando U.S. National Cup race in New Mexico.

As they prepare for Switzerland, they look forward to challenging some of the best ski mountaineers in the world. The championships will showcase various events, including a mixed-relay, sprint, vertical, individual, and team race.

Coach Tim Faia expressed pride in his team. “Team Summit’s ski mountaineering team is still in its early days, but sending three athletes to the World Championships is a huge accomplishment for us. They’ve worked hard to fine-tune their skills and boost their fitness to reach this level,” he said.

In Morgins, McDonald, Brown, and Adkins will join the U.S. National Team. They’ll participate in the opening ceremony, representing their country as they prepare for an exciting week of racing.
