Stabbing Incident in San Antonio
On New Year’s Day, a woman was stabbed during a gathering in Northeast San Antonio. Police responded to a call around 7:30 a.m. at a home on Walzem Road.
An officer at the scene shared that investigators were working through various accounts of the incident. Initially, it was confirmed that the woman suffered multiple cuts on her hand from a machete.
According to updates from the San Antonio Police Department, the trouble began when a 22-year-old man started groping a woman at the party. When she left, he took a machete and began chopping at the wooden railing on the porch.
In an effort to intervene, two men threw rocks at the suspect, which resulted in one of the rocks breaking a window. During the chaos, a 25-year-old woman tried to block the suspect. Unfortunately, she was injured when he swung the machete at her hand and was later taken to the hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening.
The suspect fled the scene, and so far, witnesses have not been very helpful to the police. Thankfully, no one else was hurt, and the investigation is ongoing.
