Texas Man Arrested for Allegedly Using TikTok to Incite Violence Against ICE Agents: What You Need to Know

A 23-year-old man from Dallas, Eduardo Aguilar, has been charged for allegedly using TikTok to encourage violence against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. Federal prosecutors in Texas issued the statement outlining the charges, noting that Aguilar is in the country illegally from Mexico.

Aguilar’s legal troubles began when Dallas police informed the FBI about a TikTok video he posted on October 9. The video reportedly showed an image of Dallas along with a Spanish message asking for ten people willing to commit murder. He ended the message with skull emojis, adding a dark twist.

He allegedly offered a bounty of $10,000 for each ICE agent killed. Authorities traced the threatening post back to Aguilar’s TikTok account, leading to his arrest. A screenshot of the video was included in the criminal complaint.

In court, Aguilar was ordered to remain in federal custody, facing a potential five-year prison sentence if found guilty.

Acting U.S. Attorney Nancy E. Larson condemned Aguilar’s actions, stating that threats against law enforcement are serious and will be pursued rigorously.

This case highlights the growing concerns surrounding social media and its role in inciting violence. A recent study found that nearly 80% of law enforcement agencies report an increase in threats made online, which complicates their work and public safety efforts.
