Texas Teen Girls Arrested in Alarming Plot for Mass Casualty Attack: What You Need to Know

Two teenage girls in Texas have been arrested for planning a serious attack with pipe bombs and guns, according to the police.

The girls, aged 15 and 16, were reportedly plotting an attack at Memorial High School, located near Houston. This plan was shared on social media and was detailed enough that officials took it seriously.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) got involved and worked with local police to ensure the girls were arrested quickly. The sheriff’s office emphasized that they’re treating this situation with great seriousness, stating that any threats to school safety will not be tolerated.

A letter to the families of Memorial High School confirmed that authorities acted swiftly after finding what they called a “potentially credible threat.” In light of this incident, the school announced that it would increase safety measures to protect students and staff.

One of the girls is a student at Willis High School in Conroe, Texas, and faced unrelated charges, while the other girl attends a nearby school in the Spring Branch district. Because they are minors, their names haven’t been released.

Authorities arrested the students quickly — within just 30 minutes after being notified by the FBI about the potential threat.
